Svalner has advised the Bergendahl group on tax matters in connection with transactions with Axfood

Svalner has advised the Bergendahl group on tax matters in connection with the group’s divestment of its wholesale business, Bergendahl Food, to Axfood. The transaction also includes the divestment of 9,9 per cent of City Gross to Axfood, initiating a strategic partnership to strengthen the competitiveness of City Gross. The transaction also includes an option for Axfood to gradually increase its ownership in City Gross up to 30 per cent over the course of five years.

The Bergendahl group is a family-owned group with subsidiaries active in groceries, supermarkets, home furnishing and fashion with stores in Sweden, Norway, Denmark, Germany and Finland. The Group e.g. operates the City Gross, EKO, Granit and Glitter store chains.
